AIRPORT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

The Ambassadors at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport serve as regional goodwill emissaries by providing courteous, friendly assistance, and useful information to the passengers, visitors, and guests of AVP. The Ambassador Program at AVP, an all-volunteer program that began May 25, 2006, is committed to the enhancement of customer service at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. Ambassadors are good will representatives of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Region, and provide high-level, courteous assistance to regional visitors passing through the new Joseph M. McDade Terminal Building at AVP.   BECOME AN AMBASSADOR TODAY!

Traveling by air can be exciting and adventurous. Yet, even experienced travelers need assistance in navigating unfamiliar airports and destinations, locating useful information, and finding different amenities. YOU can make a tangible difference in a travelers day by volunteering as an Airport Ambassador. Airport Ambassadors provide Northeastern Pennsylvania hospitality by assisting travelers and visitors with warmth, compassion and information about the Airport and our Region. From the moment travelers step off the plane or walk into the new Joseph M. McDade Terminal Building, Team AVP would like YOUR assistance to look out for them. If guests need assistance, Ambassadors will lend a hand. Whether its about a flight, reuniting long-lost loves or even taking snapshots, there is no issue too big or too small. For donating your time, you’ll receive more than the gratitude of the visitors you help, the appreciation of the Airport community, or the personal satisfaction of providing a helping hand. You’ll provide clarity to the confused, uplift the weary, calm the anxious, and provide care to harried travelers. In short, you’ll be a living example of the kindness of strangers. You’ll be a goodwill ambassador for our region while making a travelers airport experience smooth and memorable. AVP is looking for volunteers who are at least 16 years of age and are willing to volunteer a minimum of one three-hour shift per week. Individuals should have an outgoing personality, possess good communications skills, work well with a variety of people, and be reliable.
